Default Are you a fan of early GH's?

i seem to recall several people saying they like early GH's Say ser. number 50000 to 80000 or so. I'm just throwing those numbers out there as approximates. If i remember correctly, what is it you like about them? I'm looking at one now and would like to know what draws you to them?

Thanks

I am a big fan of early GH grades and own 4. I think the engraving seems a bit more finished and, yes, the wood is often quite nice

I have one in the 100,000 with some nicely figured wood. Aside from the wood, what would be the difference?`

I've got an 1889 EH that has very nice wood . And while I like the later EH/GH engraving the early style without the oval around the birds on the sides of the action is a lot more appealing to me .

When people talk about "early" Gs. I beleive the determining factor is the engraving pattern that does not utilize the oval on the sides.
