PS
the floorplate bird is capercaillie - world's largest grouse - better done than the ducks or wabbit

Very nice! I've become enamored of these 16ga German Guns with the deep relief engraving. They are typically very finely made and make wondeful grouse and woodcock guns carrying at right around 6 pounds. They are a great value in my opinion as they usually don't bring big money. If I find a nice one I'll usually buy it.
Yours is a very nice example in my opinion. |

Mark,
Sorry for short response earlier but I was "multi-tasking".. You have a nice guild gun there. Should be great in the field and is probably made for 65mm shells which you can get from polywad (which I use for no particular reason) or some of the others. Engraving quality on this double would be considered "average" for a guild... Unlikely that you can ever find out whom made it.... Last edited by KCordell; 06-26-2017 at 12:34 AM.. |
