Default Recessed hinge pin

Was the recessed hinge pin patented by PB, and if so, does anyone know the date the patent was issued. I am trying to pin down, as close as I can, the serial number range in which the changeover occurred. I posted a similar question last year and Brian Dudley responded that the changeover occurred during the 5000 serial number range. Does anyone have a non-recessed hinge pin gun in the low to mid 5000's, or a recessed gun in the mid to upper 5000's?

The hinge pin recess was patented by Charles King.

That serial number range I mentioned comes right out of TPS.

Thank you again Brian. I'd just like to hear from any current, or former, owners of guns in that serial number range who might want to share their serial numbers and styles with us.
Anybody????

Just a tidbit to add to this discussion, I was watching and old western on TV the other night "Wanted Dead or Alive" They had a close up of the stage coach driver, and his shotgun rider. The shot gun was a Parker looked to be an O grade but differently saw Parker Bros on the gun barrels were cut to just beyond the for end, Hammer gun of course, Gary

Austin, I have s/n 5056 which has the old flush (non-recessed) hinge pin. Fig 3.20 of TPS says Parker guns after about serial 5500 have the spherical recess hinge
