Default BISMUTH SHOT FOR RELOADING ON SALE

Ballistic Products has Bismuth shot on sale for $118.88/7 pounds. Regular $150. Flat shipping of $8.99 whether one or more bags.

For 1 1/2 ounce 10 or 12 gauge modern loads that is about $1.70 per shell for the shot. Obviously less for the 1 1/4 ounce loads for old 10s and 12s. Not too bad when compared to factory options.

Wow, a price war! Same price per pound. Maybe that's why. I needed some other stuff to load pure tungsten so I placed an order for bismuth number 2s. They kill geese really well.

That’s my # 2 plan. Sample price is the same per pound as the 10 lb bag. Might do some figuring on how much we need, go with multiple sample packs instead.

William.

I just ordered seven pounds of #2 and seven pounds of #4 . Hopefully that'll last me a year or two .

Does anyone know if the Bismuth for sale by these two vendors is the "new" formulation (that I think Kent developed)? My understanding is that the new formulation is less likely to shatter and gives better penetration downrange. I have a stash of the old stuff, and would like to reload and compare it with the new.
