Default Polywad out of business?

I think this is the right forum? I'll delete and move to the right one if requested.

I heard a nice rumor today that Polywad has folded up shop. I tried to call for myself and the phone just rings and rings and rings. Has anyone heard similar or evidence to the contrary?

Dylan, I can't remember where but on another shotgun forum there was a gentleman who had confirmed they were finished. That's as much as I know. If it's the company that makes the spreader inserts I see they're still available but they could be contracted out.

Thanks Andy,

All evidence seems to suggest that is indeed factual. Hopefully RST can weather the storm...

RST is a cut above in my experience, but I am worried about them too.

I seen a post on another forum that claimed the maker of their wads in Italy got shutdown for awhile. Dont know why they didnt substitute for another wad though if that was the case.

None of the small ammo outfits actually have the equipment to make their own components so they are pretty much stuck waiting just like reloaders.

I had heard the business was sold and that the new owners decided not to reopen it. Maybe that's just temporary and once the supply chains open back up they will be back in business.

That's them. I used to have a bunch of these as shown in the picture. Folks liked them. I sold all I had about this time last year.

I shot the last of my Polywad SpredR 16 ga. shells last Sunday afternoon. They always performed admirably in my 32" Elsie and my 32" Parker, in "opening the tight chokes" to well distributed patterns. I have shot 92% with them out of the Smith, on Rick Hemingway's five-stand.

I tried calling them again a couple weeks back and couldn't get through. I'm really sorry Jay Menefee, who started the business, sold it.
