Default S x S Shoot at Old Hudson Plantation Sporting

Come down and help us "open up GA" at the S x S shoot on June 6. Beautiful course and great southern hospitality (and food!).

This is a great venue and fun shoot. We have not done it in a few years, but hopefully we can make it this year.

I hope to make it as well, but I really suck wind when it comes to Sporting Clays. No matter what gauge, hammer or hammerless.

When Bruce Evans still owned the old Brigham and Parks Gun Club outside of Winston Salem I met an older gentleman there that was not to far from Sparta . He lived in Macon but I cannot remmember his name , he was an All American Skeet shooter in the late 60’s early 70’s if my memory serves . Took me awhile but I found him in an old NSSA annual fellows name was T.J. Maddox , I suspect he might not be with us any more as I met him in the late 80’s and he was over 65 then .

Hope to see some PGCA members there tomorrow. Julia and I will be there with the boys tomorrow morning. We are doing the 20 gauge competition.

I'll be at a trap shoot in Covington, so I want be able to get over to Old Hudson. Good luck and good shooting to all who make it. My money is on Julia and Harry to take home gold in the 20 gauge category. Sorry Mills.

You all missed a good time. Harry got a Scotch double and Julia got 8 straight at one station. I still beat them overall. We all shot Parker 20's.

It was a good time indeed. It was good to see you and your family again, Mills. Been too long.

FWIW, I've shot many S x S events in the Southeast, including two U S Opens. The targets in the "Main" at Old Hudson Plantation, Saturday, were the most "sporting" I've ever seen in a S x S event. I loved it. Kudos to the Bush family for giving us challenging stuff to shoot at.

Anyone who hasn't visited Old Hudson's facilities should do so, if feasible. Great place, and great Southern hospitality.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk with you Stan. I had to get back home and couldn't stay as long.

I did get to catch up with Mills and Julia and the boys, which was great.

The targets were fun!
