Default Need Help at SXS

The Left Firing Pin on my new Stub twist 11-ga Parker 4005 does not always retract. Also, I have noticed that it can fall forward if the gun is pointed downward when the breech is open. I suspect it may have a broken firing pin spring. I want to shoot this gun at the SXS, but would like to get this problem fixed first. Who should I see at the southern to get this little puppy fixed?

On the other hand, if I can not get it fixed---can I get handicap points for shooting with an inferior gun?

Richard, any short little coil spring that will fit around the pin should work fine. It doesn't need to be strong. I have heard a trimmed spring from a ball-point pen can be used successfully.

Is anyone going to have a wall thickness gauge?

I found a spring at my Ace True Value hardware store. Take the spring out of the good side, take it along and look for one of comparable size and strength. It will need to be trimmed to the correct length.

The spring in the early guns with offset pins does not go around the pin. It rests between the frame and the step in the pin. The spring is larger than one of the ball point pen. It is about 1/4" in diameter.
I may have a few spares. Or Dave Purnell might be able to help.
I will be at the southern with all my parts with me, and likely the basic tools needed to install the pin for you. Provided the bushing comes free. They don't always pop free easily.

Mills,
I will make sure to bring my wall thickness gauge and my bore gauge too.

Brian,

That is wonderful. I will bring all of my bore gauges and micrometers and digital scales as well. I will also be bringing a table, backdrop, photographic lights with umbrellas.and pattern paper sheets.
