Not that it cannot be done. It would just make a very heavy set of barrels.

Can not the barrels be profiled down to the same weight and balance point as the existing 12ga? David |

Why? You could probably buy 20 VHE for the same dollars as the original VHE and the cost of the monoblocking or sleeving, if you will.

Dave, I would have a hard time explaining it. Would be better to draw it.
Basically, the amount a 12g chamber would need to be framed out to accept the new tube might be too much in order properly profile the finished sleeve job.

David, It seems it depends who you talk to as to what they can or will do. I talked to Gary Singer, he said only down one gauge, I talked to a guy named Tom and he said they could do 12 to 20. Their web sight says they can do 12 to 20. Go figure, your guess is as good as mine. Carvel

I hear 2nd hand, Briley prefers to sleeve 16 to 20 on a 1 frame. Just guessing, the frame size is probably more important than the donor barrel gauge

If you follow the profile of the original barrels (12ga) your barrels will probable weigh seven to eight pounds easy. If you change the profile you will have to rework the fore arm wood and possible the fore arm metal. If you line the barrels you will have the same weight problems. Either way it will be a very expensive proposition.
