Midway has kynoch ammo on sale . Its 90.00a box. UNfortunatly it is a box of 5 rounds. Talk about hurts. I can but the dies the bullets (woodleigh) the brass powder primers with change left over for the cost of 20rds of kynoch.

Try buying a box of (5) .577NE for $90.
To say it was long time ago that I had my 450-400 3.25 Holland would be better put in terms of what the gun cost. $3500. Yeah, that was a while ago.
I had 6 best quality sidelock rifles from H&H (3), Purdey (2) and the sweetest Westley Richards drop lock .280FNE. They were converted into college tuitions for my twins.

A dealer friend up here had a completely custom single shot .700 Nitro made a few yrs back. What a monster! I'm sure it cost more than my house. Can't imagine buying the ammo for that thing. Those shells were huge.

That is a classic calibre to say the least. I think you would need enough dacron to keep the powder in place so it will burn uniformly. That will make a nice deer rifle for sure, were a little short on Lion in the USA

Wayne you probably already know this but Hornady has 450-400 3 inch loaded cartridges for I believe about $130.00 per box of 20.
