Default A day with my DHE

Had my 32" DHE out for a stroll on the course at Gulf Coast Clays, east of Naples today. I stunk up the joint, but one of the others in our squad missed the first target, ran about the next 75, and ended up with a 98. Oh, by the way, he's 83 years old and shoots maybe once a week. I guess I need to wait another 8 years for my ship to come in.

John,
Thats pretty amazing shooting for that age ( for any age ). I am hoping to get my new gun and go to a pheasant farm with my brittany soon. Its a balmy 19 degrees here right now with a winter storm warning I may call the place in Lewiston you recommended they are open Sundays during the winter and see about trying sporting clays.

That's the beauty of the shotgun sports. It's a game we can do well into our older years.

40 years ago we hunted quail in Naples, Florida in places that are now covered with houses. We were in our vehicles going home by 9 AM because the rattle snakes were starting to move about. The palmetto bushes were so thick you could not see the dog, but when the bell stopped ringing we would rush to the spot we last heard it. When the covey broke it startled me to death despite knowing it would. Fond memories of Naples and Everglades was about the only spot to shoot clays.
