Default Nice Blueback Pheasant

Kansas Blueback Pheasant. What a beauty. It was a long way from home given I took it this morning in CT.

Nice day for hunting out with friends, Jim, Bill and Phil with his tireless Lab, Piper. Bit of snow on the ground and nice, crisp temp.

My VHE 20 served me well.

Glad to see a young member enjoying hunting with a Parker. Too many of us are getting a little past the our prime.

A nice mature Ring-neck! I count a minimum of 32 bars!

Yes, Dave, it was at Markover. Keith is an old-time family friend; growing up with my older brother as a teenager. Always a great time at a fine preserve.

Haven’t considered to mount one in the past. However, the colors on this bird were so vivid and the tail so long, I took it home to take to the taxidermist tomorrow. It was also our long bird of the day and probably my longest shot which also makes it special.
