Correct Recoil Pad Replacement Help

I have a 1902 Damascus DH Grade 3 12 gauge and it needs a new recoil pad. I found this website http://www.csmcspecials.com/SearchRe...&Submit=Search but I don't know which one, if any are the correct ones for this gun? Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Also, the gun is missing the screws needed for attachment. Does anybody know what screws I need? Thanks!

Dane,

You can go with the CSMC replacement pads. I don't particularly like the Silvers pad although I have put them on some of my Parkers. They are really hard and don't provide much recoil absorption. Personally, I'd go with the Noshoc or Hawkins pad. It's entirely up to you, all would be fine. Just make sure the pad is a little oversize compared to your butt size. The pad will need to be ground to fit. No special phillips screw is needed, they can be bought at your local hardware store. If you have a gunsmith fit the pad, he should have screws.

The silvers pads from CSMC do include screws I believe. The CSMC general red pads, which are near the same as the silvers pads, do not include them. The noshoc pads are nice, slightly softer than the silvers pads, but not by much. If you are after a softer pad, an open cushion pad such as a jostam or a Hawkins pad would be a better choice. I personally think that a solid pad looks better than an open cushion pad.

All the pads that I have mentioned would be "correct" for your gun. Considering that they were all being made at the time the gun was new.

The Silver pad was being made at the time your gun was made. I prefer the Griffin and Howe Silver repro pad, have used them since I bought my first one in 1986, never had a bad one. Prices are on their website.
