You need a copy of Nontes book. I'll get you some recipes. I'm away now.

The gun looks like it has been sitting in someones gun cabnet. Probable for lack of ammo. could be problematic. Thanks Edger.

Very interesting !

I've got a Kettner drilling that's rifle barrel is 10.75x65R Collath . That cartridge is easily made from the 405 WIN case .

Here is a bit of info. This is from Ken Howell's Designing and Forming Custom Cartridges. No load data at the moment, but I'll dig around.

Your're welcome, Wayne. I wasn't able to find any load data though. Good luck getting her shooting.

Up date. I made one case today out of 45/70 brass and fire formed it to the chamber. Aside from it being about a 1/4" short it worked fine. fired the case a second time using Lyman's cast bullet load for a 405 Winchester. Everything worked fine and the recoil was very pleasant. So far so good. Should have all the proper loading componants in by the end of the week or the first of next week.

From what you've found so far do they say originally if this cartridge was loaded with cast or jacketed projectiles ? In "Cartridges of the World" they claim my 10.75x65R Collath was originally loaded with a 205 grain cast bullet and BP . Without searching my notes seems to me with a 205 grain cast bullet I was using 16 grains of Unique and getting something like 1600-1800 FPS . I'd be interested to know your load and the velocity
