Default Value of my Parker VHE?

Need help with determining the approx. value of my 12ga Double Barrel Parker Grade 0 VHE. I know it was made in 1929. Vulcan steel barrel. 1 1/2 Frame size. Barrel weight is 4.3. The barrels are 32" full choke on both. This gun is in great shape and I don't think it has ever been fired. And that's what I was told by the previous owner. Not sure if that can be proven though. Has minor discoloration on the corners of the barrels on both ends. Also has some minor stuff on the bottom of the barrels on the joint. Stock and forearm are basically flawless. The plastic cap behind the trigger guard tail has some damage. Dog head butt plate. All the metal etching is in great condition. The coloration of the metal is in great condition. I'll attach pictures next. Any help you can give would be great thanks.

You can utilize the Blue Book of Firearms as well as the few on-line gun sales sites to help assign a value to your Parker. There are many of them out there for sale in varying degrees of condition.

Your pictures tell part of the story. Before a true price can be determined, a face to face with a potential buyer would be required. If you set a reasonable price, you may get some contacts. The pictures show some signs of a refinish, whether good or bad.

Your top tang screw looks to be out way to far you may want to tighten it up with the proper turn screw / screwdriver . You do not have a VHE you have a VH you dont have ejectors you have extractors .

The grip cap is probably a non original replacement too.
And it has cyanide case colors which weren’t originally done at Meriden.
The butt plate is probably original but not original to your gun. The border has been removed in fitting it to that stock.

I wish that Remington date code could talk…

Unfired, I think not, someone has tried to take it apart also, the screw slots on the frame have been boogered, plus what others have pointed out. A decent shooter yes, but far from unfired and pristine. Still a 32" on a 1 1/2 frame is a cool gun, I would shoot it and enjoy it.

Just wondering if you have talked to the previous owner after we gave you some input on your gun ? I think he / she knows more than their telling you . I hate that when it happens .

What bothers me is that someone will post a buy they made asking for advice, and then not reply or fail to keep the dialogue going about that purchase. I think in this case, folks were very gentle in describing a well worn, obviously tampered with gun, that is far from original and very likely used hard. That being said, I would hope the OP would use it as a buying experience or perhaps talk to the seller about misrepresentation. Personally, I hate seeing someone giving up on Parkers. We all have made mistakes. I buy "shooters" and half my buddies who see them wonder if I'm nuts because they're not "pristine." I'm not a safe queen guy. At the very least I hope the OP would make it shoot safely and use her as Mr Parker intended. Nothing to be embarrassed about, there is a LOT to learn. Ask me how I know.

About five percent of my Parkers are pristine or hard core collector guns. The rest of them are similar to the poster's 32" VH. I shoot mine about three days a week, a different one every time. I refer to my guns as "a shooting collection".
