28 gauge loads

Was wondering if anyone is using a one ounce 28 gauge load in their repro and if so do you have any comments or opinions. I used them for pheasant in the past in a beretta o/u but not in my SxS for birds yet.

They are very unpleasant out of my 5lbs 5oz, straight grip, splinter forend, 28 Repro.

With all due respect why would you want to cram 1oz of shot into that small bore? I've hunted extensively with my Parker 28 (5lb 6oz) and have killed a lot of birds with the standard 3/4oz. and 5/8oz loads. That 1oz load can't be good for your gun or shoulder.

Thanks for the comments. Make sense just to shoot them up on pigeons with the beretta as it is a heavier gun and I felt little difference from standard loads in that gun. The repro will be one of my go to partridge and ring neck guns and no need to make things difficult for the gun or for me. Have only shot clays with it so far and you gotta love those 12 gauge breaks with a 28 gauge gun 3/4oz of shot.
