Same serial numbered sets

Hi Guys, What are 4 gun DHE sets in the same serial numbered worth? They are 410, 28,20 and 12 guage. The 410 is single barrel all the rest are 3 barrel sets. All are unfired and un assembled. Thanks

Interesting question. I assume you know of such a set! I've never really thought about it much simply for the fact that I didn't know there was such a set made. Rarity would have to come into play on the final assesment.

Let me think about it some & I'll get back with my thoughts.

Here's my thoughts & these are only my personal opinions.

Just looking at these as indivdual DHE repro's I feel the value in todays market would fall like this.

The 12ga & 20ga three barrel set would probably sell somewhere around $5000.00 to $6000.00 each. The 28ga $6000.00 to $7000.00 The .410 $8000.00 to $11,000.00 (.410's are really hard for me to call)

This adds up to a value of somewhere between $24,000.00 on the low side & $30,000.00 on the high side.

Then due the rarity of possibly being the only four gun same serial numbered set made. I would say add at least 10% and possible up to 25% for the set.

Then there are unknown variables of configurations of these guns. I.E. triggers, two forearms per set, straight stocks, wood quality etc.

That's my opinion for what ever it's worth. I know I'd sure like to see some pictures of this set !!!!!

I am amazed at how we price a truly unique Parker compared to what a one of a kind Colt or Winchester would be priced?

That,s why we should not get in the appraisal business as a group, Like GH16 says there are to many variables, to be able to price something like these guns. There could be someone out there that would like to have this to sort of finish out their collection of reproductions and would pay handsomely for them! Just my two cents Gary

The big difference in pricing/value between rare Parkers versus rare Winchesters or Colts is due purely to demand. There are about 1200 or so members of the PGCA and and possibly a total of 2 to 3000 serious collectors of Parkers. Winchester and Colt collector number in the tens of thousands.

We (the PGCA) should have a prominent display booth or table at every gun show that draws collectors of pre-WW II firearms.

Dean, You got that right! There are enough of us to set up some where in this country at least once a year. I know several that do so Bill, Kevin myself and others but this could be expanded to bring more awareness to our wonderful world of Parkers. Can you imagine what a Parker would be worth today if it were not for the PGCA? The organization has brought the gun to the forefront of the collecting community, and prices realized for them reflect that even in this down turn economy! gary
