I'm checking my mailperson for NRA and PGCA membership. Maybe he's a slow reader.

Catalog #8 is one of the nicest lifters I have ever seen. I hated to finish the case and return the gun. The writeup says it comes with Parker tools, but doesn't show them, so I thought it might be of interest to show them. The case top is a beautiful piece of feather crotch walnut.

Bill - Have you seen Sprankle's spectacular decoy display on Sanibel Island? Hope they weren't destroyed in the Hurricane. His generosity has raised lots of money for the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge

Missouri must be on the outs with the USPS. Nothing here yet.

(Edgar, the case is stunning, as is the gun.)

I recieved my catalog today and skimmed through it at lunch.

I read the description today and ws surprised by one thing in the description. It states that the barrel flats are stamped with the grade and DD which means it has Parker made damascus barrels.

Somehow, I don't remember ever seeing this. I am well aware of the Parker made barrels and have a few of them. I have seen several (I own one) which have the Parker laminate barrels on D quality guns. There have been several discussions of the laminate barrels in the past couple of years, but I don't remember any mention that Parker made true Damascus pattern barrels in addition to the laminates. They were only made for 2-3 years. Did they actually make damascus pattern barrels in addition to the laminates, and were they marked DD, similar to the P stamp on the laminates?

No ArtS, they didn't.

The DD indicates Finest Damascus (which I believe is 5-iron crolle) but not all are stamped as such... most are though.
