Mills:
That is close enough for consideration, but was Ike just too "squared away" a kind of guy to have ever sported a mustache?

I almost bought a straight grip Parker DHE 16 that Ike had borrowed from his NH grouse hunting buddy and liked it so much he was very slow in returning it.
But no, it’s not Ike. .

Dean, Can you tell us more about the picture? What is the source of it? Where is it pictured? Is any kind of location mentioned?

I really don’t know where the picture was taken.
All I know is that the gent in the picture is purported to have hunted birds with Spiller in NH or ME. .

The gun, a book inscribed to the deceased owner of the gun and a picture of Ike, the owner, the Parker and a Brittany... autographed by Ike and a letter from the owner to Ike wondering when he would get his Parker back, were offered for sale in about 2003 in a local want-ad or Uncle Henry’s Buy, Sell & Swap publication for something like $3.5k. I called immediately but was told the gun was just purchased by a collector. I asked the seller to have the collector call me - that I would pay him a good profit for the group. Well he called that evening and told me he had sold it to Riley’s in NH. I drove there the next morning, handled the gun and asked about the other things that were sold with it. The store owner said “Nothing else came in with the gun.” The new price on the gun was $7,500 and I walked out. .
