Default Storage Question

My son just acquired a Midland hammer 410 with a case. Should the gun be stored in the case? Any help in this area is appreciated. Thanks

Unless you have some way to keep moisture levels low, a case is not the best storage in my experience. We had this come up in a thread not too long ago, and there was general advocation of using the silicone impregnated gun socks. I use those in combination with dehumidifying devices in my safes...along with regular inspection and a twice-a-year wipe down.

I store my guns muzzle down in the safe. Any excess oil runs down, away from the stock head. Theoretically.
