I’ve read through a lot of threads and faq’s but figured it might be easier to break things down by section, so what’s everyone’s favorite product:

Metal cleaning:
Metal protection (storage):
Wood cleaning:
Wood protection (storage):
High movement area lube/grease:

Metal: Clenzoil but just received CorrosionX to try out
Wood: Clenzoil
Friction: Lubriplate grease

But sometimes any of 1,000 other products I have on hand. They're all the same anymore, so much good stuff out there.

I found the Lubriplate was too thick/coarse for the close tolerances on my tight Parkers’ hinge joint/hook and I couldn’t close the gun.

I put the tiniest "shmear" on the metal and haven't had any trouble. But then again sometimes I use what I use on my bullseye wad gun, a tiny speck of plain gun oil.

Parker promoted 3 in 1 oil . Tru Value and Walmart have it.

Back in the 1870’s and 80’s , sperm whale oil was often used. Tru Value and Walmart do not carry that .

Picked this up at WalMart a few years ago. It keeps a long time.
