Default VHE 28 ga. 26 "

Just acquired and it has a wide orange colored front bead setup (plastic) that is pinned on through bead hole. . With help(??) from a friend he asked if I wanted it removed. It is rather gross looking and a std bead would be more appropriate so he applied some heat , from a heat gun. He didn't think it would get hot enough to melt rib solder but........it did.Its a late Remington gun and I don't think it was very solid anyway. I now need it repaired by a qualified Smith. Therefore.......please drop some names here . Would appreciate any and all names.

It's a strip and relay. Not a big deal, if done by the right gunsmith. I would sift through the Gunsmith thread in the FAQ forum.

Will relaying the ribs properly require the barrels to be reblued properly?

Wow. I just discovered this gun is LEFT HANDED.
Left barrel more open than right.
Single trigger..Ejectors..fire once, left ejector is activated.

It's not left handed it's reversed choked. I have a couple of them that way, why they did it I have no idea.

It's cast neutral. Could go either way.

And so, it is not a single selective trigger?

You're looking at a strip-and-relay plus new blacking. Also a proper bead up front. Send the barrels to Kirk Merrington if you want it done right: 830-367-1325

Is the left trigger ahead of the right? It would then be left handed.
Are there any made that way that you are aware of?
