Please don’t count me as one of those trapshooting experts. I’m far from that - just repeating what I read.

Me neither, but there are a few who know an awful lot.

One more plus in the (too) short history of Wilbur F. Parker, Sr., and too bad he died so young. It would have been interesting to see what else he might have accomplished and how the country would regard him now.

And, Dean, I second your thanks to Ed M. He looked at things a bit differently, and helped us see them so, too.

I always read “Parkers In Pulp” by John Davis, first and I’m about halfway through it when I read, according to the August 17th entry, the mainsprings on our hammerless Parkers were guaranteed for 25 years. John notes “Parker certainly didn’t lose any money on that guarantee.” I’ll go one further by saying I think Parker might have really boisted their sales numbers by guaranteeing those springs for fifty or even seventy-five years.

I wonder if any of us shooting our hammerless Parkers have experienced a broken mainspring?

Dean, the mainspring broke in my 1902 16ga GH while hunting woodcock in Maine this fall, on the last day! I have since fitted a replacement. Things just don't last like they once did!
