Default Hello from Maine

New member here from Maine just wanted to say hey to everyone. I became a Parker Brothers shotgun owner yesterday and found these forums soon after. Its been super helpful so far in identifying which gun I have. I made a post over in hammer guns to learn more about my gun and show it off a bit. Its beat up but I'm hoping with a little love it will make a nice shooter for years to come!

First and foremost, have an expert gunsmith well versed in old sxs shotguns evaluate the varrels and chambers for safe walk thickness. It is important that he use the proper and correct wall thickness gauge.
Do not proceed with the gun until you have established the safety of the barrels.
A lot of us shoot Parkers and other makes with composite barrels, Damascus, Twist, Laminated, etc. with modern ammo as long as the pressures are within safe standards for these old guns.

Forrest, welcome. As one newbie to another, please follow one rule and that is to avoid doing anything at all to your gun until you arm yourself by reading the information available here. Particularly, don’t mess with any screws, finish, etc. If you post pictures, the community here will be happy to help you figure out what you have. I’m sending you a PM.
