Default Northeast SxS at Hidden Hollow

If you have never been to Penn's Woods, or as we know it, Pennsylvania, you really should experiance it. The beauty of the sunlight casting through a canopy of green is a delight to anyone! For we who appreciate classic SxS shotguns I know of no better manner in which to enjoy Penn's Woods than the annual Great Northeastern SxS Classic at Hausmann's Hidden Hollow.

Here's our Crusty Old B..., make the COB!

Between shots COB could always be found scrounging 2 1/2" 16 gauge hulls.

A bunch of PGCA members between stations on Friday, which is a practice day.

Dean, Dave, and Rich enjoying the splendor of the woods.

Dean in action!

Here's Larry!

Opening Day shooting over the water.

Mike Koranda traveled from Duluth Minnisota to participate!

Rick is also from Duluth.

Finally, this is me shooting my Super Fox. I should have shot a 10 gauge...

More reports to follow...

Well it's Hausmann's and guess what? Yup, it rained! It started out sunny but started to cloud over about 9:30, and by about 11:30 as we were on our last 2 stations it started to drizzle. The drizzle turned into a heavy rain for the next 3 hours or so. Cold and damp with temps in the mid 50's. This is June?? All the shooting came to an end, the tent was filled up with buyers and those of us who wanted to stay dry. When the rain keeps you from shooting, the only other thing left was to eat so we did. When I left at 3:15 the sun came out and it's beautiful right now. Attached are a few photo's.

These are some of the anything but typical sporting clays stations at Hidden Hollow!

Mark,

Thanks for the pictures and the ones on double gun bbs.

Did anybody shoot the Bo Whoop event?
How were the targets. Any details would be appreciated.

John,
The targets [5pr] were incredibly challenging for the Bo Whoop. First target appears at about 40yd. and the second target [coming from the right] is at about 60+yd. when you get get back on the gun for the second shot. Three shooters tied with a five [ I only managed a 4] and a shootoff decided a winner with a 2 out of 10 pairs. To say the least it was a blast and was well run by the Fox guys. Like the challenge at the Southern it is the main reason I attend. The clays course is very challenging and there are an interesting mix of targets. But the reason that everyone should try to make this shoot are the great group of shooters that you meet representing the various manufacturers. To the Fox guys, thanks for a great event and to the Parker guys [I don't have to mention names] it was a pleasure and an honor to spend the weekend with you all. What a great group of guys. Also a big thanks to Kathy Romig and Debbie Frye for putting up with our behaviour and spoiling us with handmade sandwiches and snacks at the nightly happy hour. It don't get no better than this. Can't wait till next year- hope yopu can make it with your 34'' made for Bo Whoop gun.

Thanks Mr. Corona,

Sounds like a great time and great event.

I might have to put that one on the calender for next year. That is if they will allow me north of the mason dixon line.

John,
If need be I'll sneak you across the M/D line with my Virginia lab and her Eastern shore of Maryland partner. Lose the Southern drawl and you'll be in like Flynn. [The club is located off Flynn Rd.]. Sorry I could'nt resist. Besides, the club is located far enough away from Gettysburg that nobody really knows who R.E. Lee was nor what he attempted to do. God bless Ole' Virginny.
