That particular Trojan was essentially worn out in less then a decade from lack of care and heavy use, having shot tens of thousands birds for market before the treaty (and some after). Having never been cleaned or oiled it was in tough shape. During the Great Depression the son of the original owner burned the stock and forend to help heat the family home. Years later the orginal owners grand daughter found the barrels and receiver and they were donated to a scrap metal drive during the latter part of WWII. Ironically its metal parts were melted down and used in the assembly of the Fatman nuclear bomb and ended the war.

Man...I have found the right club to be in.Do you guys tell fish stories also??
Don't worry about that Trojan.
I found out that it was won by Mr. Sharecropper in the drawing at the Grand Opening of Porter's Hardware down on Redv Bird Lane.

William I did some fall Steelhead fishing on a cast and blast weekend a couple of years ago. The fish were on their beds but wouldn't take a spawn bag, spinner, crawler nothing. After several hours of only antagonizing the fish I thought I'd pester the Grouse and Woodcock. No birds were flushed after a couple more fruitless hours in Natures Grocery Store. I went back to the truck frustrated and empty handed....then the light came on and I put the 20GA 8's back in their box loaded my pocket with 6's.....and went fishing

At least you didn't take the spinners out for grouse.

I found it hard to manuever a 9ft rod in the Grouse coverts....besides I would just lose a lot of spinners

I know this is the same Gun I came close to buying from Pugs at the Antique Arms show in Las Vegas some years ago. The price was $8500. I picked it up several times and Pugs son came over and asked what price I would be comfortable with. I went to find Steven Cobb to ask him some questions about how much the a new stock would cost and he was nowhere to be found. The show had so many things to see, I just never dealt with it..

Big mistake for me, I am glad it was fixed up so nicely.
