Default Wrege&Flues Bay City stamped under butt plate

Greetings All,
I recently picked up a 10 gauge hammer gun, # 41745 with "Wrege&Flues Bay City" stamped under the butt plate. It is for sure a die stamp not just written out.
Do you have any knowledge of this?
Thank you,
Craig

Can you show us a picture?

It is likely the name of the store in Bay City, MI.

I have found many interesting things under buttplates of old guns.

I believe Emil Flues (of Ithaca Flues Model fame) operated in Bay City at one time.

Somewhere in my files, there is an order for a Parker placed by Emil Flues. I'll try to find it.

There are 2 entries in the order books, the first the original order, the second a repair. No mention of Wrege&Flues Bay City, but the repair was returned to Detroit. It would be interesting to see pictures of the gun to see if any modification might have been done to the metal or stocks.

Thank you, I am in the middle of repairing the stock. The gun is in very good shape overall for the age. I will post some photos when I figure out how....
