Dean, it's really interesting stuff. Only a very light odor -- kind of waxy smelling. I bought it from a guy who sold doubles at gun shows back when gun shows were good. John Allen was at the same show and also bought some. We got the last of his stash. I do use it sparingly, and it seems to work just fine in both protecting and lubricating metal.

Here's a related question: what are the high movement/friction points that you consider a must for lubrication?

The hinge & roll joint; the forward face of the rearmost lug; the sides of the barrel lug; the knuckle that the forend articulates against and the breech face where the extractor/ejectors ride against.
