Default Trojan Case Colors

I picked up this 1912 Trojan 20 ga at auction. It’s obviously been restored, including case colors. I assume these are of the cyanide variety. Does anyone recognize the work? Once I have this gun in hand, if it’s solid, it may be worth a more proper restore and in any case, is likely to become my primary upland gun. I’m a new Parker collector, only my third gun, but I can see how this can get addicting.

I could be mistaken, but I've always thought cyanide colors were striped.

Not necessarily.

But, I do beleive the colors are bone charcoal. I do not think that Cyanide colors will give you that sort of straw around the edges that is seen in some places.

Barrels possibly look hot blued though.

The colors are beautiful. I would spend my money on a new set of screws, well fitted.

That’s great to know. I didn’t realize when I bought it. I should have in hand on Wed and will post pics. Regarding the screws, where would I get a new set of screws?

Some very good examples of original high condition case colors on a Trojan.

The colors are indeed very similar. I can’t wait to evaluate it in person very soon. If the barrels were hot blued, I will have them rust blued. The wood may need attention as well.
