Yes. Your extention is broken off. The engraving you see forward of where it is broken is the seam between the rib and the extention. The round piece at the break point is actually a screw that threads down into the crack between the barrels. It has a stepped head. This screw would have had a tall head with a slot above the surace of the rib and then would have been dressed down flat with the rib after tight. It is an extra means to secure the extention to the barrels.

The screw in yours would have to be drilled out and then the rest of the extention removed with careful heat before a new one could be installed.

I would offer you a replacement extention, but I do not have any right now that are un-matted. I have only matted ones as of now.
