Default An odd reproduction?

Their is a reproduction listed on gunbroker and I haven't seen anything like it before, doesn't look like their is any engraving on the receiver, just case coloring.

I'm guessing this is rare?

I wouldn't describe it as rare. This is one of the in-the-white A-1 Specials that were closed out by Galazan a few years ago. On the other hand, I guess you could describe it as rare in the sense that the purchaser didn't have it engraved.

Makes sense. Odd that someone would spend that much money on an A1 special and not have it engraved. Wouldn't a DHE have been cheaper?

That has got to be one of the worst stock blanks I have seen on a Repro A-1 for the price it's great deal if he let's it go at 3800...

Eric, It's hard to tell if it's a lousy blank, or just a lousy finish. The checkering leaves a bit to be desired too. It would make a nice 'blank canvas' for an upgrade (which would hopefully obliterate that ridiculous "12 Gauge 2 3/4" stamping)

I agree Charlie. I like the the case colors better than engraved repros.

Actually, I really like the grain of the stock - I think it's very attractive, but if it were mine I would strip off that 'mud brown' finish and redo it in a more reddish walnut stain with an oil finish... but that's just me.
