I am glad the waterfowl season is in as I look forward to some of Destry"s great reports . Somehow I don't see him shooting Geese in the field, execution style, like on the outdoor channel. That kind of waterfowl shooting is such a turn off and who knows who killed what.

I'm leaving here in a couple hours for Southern Illinois to catch the duck opener with my Dad and some friends. I've had fair reports as far as duck numbers down there so we should get some shooting. And a few geese using my friends marsh I'm amazed to hear. I've not killed a goose in that part of the world in at least 15 years. Maybe in the morning!

The Maryland duck season opens tomorrow. I would love to be at my club on Church Creek but unfortunately I am double booked. Tomorrow, I'll be at the old gun club for our club championship-scratch at 30 yard rise as we have done for 134 years. We've done a lot of improvements to the grounds so I am hopeful of a good day of sport. Perhaps, Fred Kimble and Capt. Bogardus can resume their rivalry along the big river again this year. maybe I can sneak down to Maryland during the week and catch a few of dem eloosive fowls unawares

Capt. Money,
I have not had recent conversation with Mr. Kimble regarding the matter, but if he is willing I am willing. Being the current holder of the championship medal and watch, I have no doubt that another meeting would keep both in my hands. You have my best wishes for your upcoming match, I'll wait impatiently for a full report. Best Regards, Capt. A.H. Bogardus

I assume I will have to wait until the Sunday edition of the Inquirer arrives in Monday's mail to know the results of this historic tournament. Hopefully, attorney Kaas' name will be in bold print on the top of page one of the sports section, now that the Paterno situation has cooled a bit.
