Seasons Greetings to everyone. (I have visited this site for quite some time but just formally registered.) I was bitten by the Parker bug 7 years ago when I walked into a gun shop and bought a 1905 VH after handling it for 5 minutes. Did not know anything about grades, models, dimensions, specs........it just felt right. She locked up like a fine Swiss watch is how I described it to my wife. I had owned many doubles over the years, but none like this. Later, I learned that the stock had been upgraded over time complete with full coverage checkering on the fore-end. I bought the Parker Story a week later and ordered the research letter. I was hooked, what can I say. My biggest regret is the DHE I passed on about a year ago. She was special too. Anyway, I want to complement everyone on the wealth of knowledge available on this site. Truly amazing. I look forward to continuing the journey. Thanks for stoking the fire and fanning the flames.

Welcome aboard Charles. Where do you live in South Carolina? A couple of us live in Georgetown. Cheers, Tom

Default SC

We are building a house for/with our son in Clemson. Being married to a tax lawyer, it is more likely I will die in your state than CT!!
Now that you have joined the Forum, you should consider joining the PGCA. I am sure Dean Romig will be glad to explain the benefits.

Picking up on George's cue....

By becoming a PGCA Member you will have access to the Members Only part of the PGCA Forum where double guns and parts can be bought and sold and we can also sell other sporting-related items.
You will receive a New Member Package from Mary Bowes, our Membership Coordinator, and you will receive our organization's journal, Parker Pages.... It's more than a newsletter - more than merely a journal too... it is a color, glossy, 48-page quarterly magazine full of Parker related technical articles, stories of shooting and hunting with Parkers, write-ups of some of the shows and events the PGCA takes part in... all with high-quality color pictures. There are advertisements by some of the best doublegun smiths and there is a dealers page where you can find shops and stores that cater to the doublegun enthusiast. There is a section of some four full pages of "Parkers Found" which contain serial numbers of Parkers that are unique or unusual in some way. (Just this morning I learned of a very unusual Parker that will be appearing in the "Parkers Found" section soon {as well as an article too, I hope}).

There's a lot more too... like the life-long friendships you'll make among the memberss here.

Thanks George.

Welcome to Charleston, we need to all get together and either organize a hunt or shooting event. Would like to meet everyone here and get to see some more parkers.

We have a great place to shoot at Back Woods Quail club at Georgetown. When could the Charleston folks come up? Cheers, Tom

Welcome Charles: I live in Lexington just West of Columbia. Be sure & try to attend the Southern at Deep River Sanford, NC in the Spring. We also have a great shooting venue at The Hermitage in Camden, SC.

Best Regards, George
