Thanks for the memories!
I grew up in the Texas Panhandle hunting cottontails and the occasional jack rabbit with:
Dog and Daisy pump
M61 22 rifle
Circa 1900 Parker 20 on 28 frame
S&W M18 .22 revolver(riding on the right front fender of a 1942 Hudson mostly at night)

We took them home and cleaned the cottontails for frying and jacks for chili grind meat - all good. I still love fried rabbit.
