Default short ten TM and Nice shot

Pete

more non tox loads for the list - since many of us will use the short tens for waterfowl -

except the shot- these were previously known loads
done as a comparison of Kent's TM and Nice Shot-->

the 7625 load is the lead load from your spread sheet,
the Red Dot loads were taken from Craig's load posted a while ago

i wanted to see how the powders compared under the same shot loads
powder and shot were hand weighed, some crimps were done on a different loader as i had an issue with one - i wonder if that affected the variance

I understand these may have limited use to many due the the shot I used - BUT- if you happen to have some of this in your hoarding

and - since no one but the individual has any control of their process- use any data at your own risk

Thank you Rick, I will update the spreadsheet shortly with your loads, I just updated it with Victor's data. I think it's time to make it available in this forum again as there are some new loads thanks to all the folks who have shared their test results with us.

Just looking at the burn rate chart - 800X, Longshot, Blue Dot, Steel, and Lil gun are just a few of shotgun powders still in use that are all slower than 7625 or 4756. I may be wrong but it would seem one could sub in one of these powders and not worry about higher pressures.

Paul

very likely - and I intend to do up some other loads and have them tested- I do have a lot of longshot to use

but

a 12 gauge story aside - the prevailing wisdom is that Nice Shot raises pressure by up to 1500 PSI - so i took a known 12 load used nice shot- and it had a 2k increase

so- as I get loads tested for the 10 with other powders - i will let everyone know- $25 to Mr Armbrust is cheap insurance
