I've sold my Browning book, so this is from the net:

* designates full choke (F).

*- designates improved modified choke (IM).

** designates modified choke (M).

**- designates improved cylinder choke (IC).

**$ designates skeet (SK).

This is hollowell's reference on choke markings http://www.hallowellco.com/choke_chart.htm.

Based on this, your chokes are mod and full.

Default Browning choke stamps

I have a Browning 3 bbl set that belonged to a USA Skeet team member with Bob Rodale that has cylinder chokes and the bbls are marked with ***. Just a bit of FYI.

Tom, Bob Rodale is a voice from the past. I won my first and only Silver Medal in International (Olympic) skeet at a Bob Rodale memorial shoot a few years ago. Well, maybe more than a few. Who was the owner of your Browning?

Clint Swingle. I ended up with his guns. He was a good friend and rarely missed a grouse if he could see it.(sometimes, I swear, got them when he couldn't) I used to shoot for him at the Retriever trials. Bob was a good friend as well, and died way too soon. Problem with being in my 79th year, is that I have outlived nearly all of my close friends and mentors. Getting Old Sux, so I am going to hit the Century mark, that'll teach'em.
