This Parker G grade just sold on GB. I had no particular need, want or room for it, but felt somehow obligated to bid, as it was poised to sell for far too little. I was outbid at the very end of the auction and didn't want it enough to keep bidding. Its condition appears exemplary in terms of honest wear, nice screw slots, fishtail top lever, and complete originality, not to mention a #1 frame. But there just wasn't as much interest in it as I would have expected. So my question(s) is did I miss something about its condition that everyone else saw, or is this just an indication of how soft the market currently is for G grades with damascus barrels ($1040)? Or was this just an unusually low sale price for some other extraneous reason? One would certainly be hard pressed to find a comparable Parker on any dealer's rack for that price.
