A couple of years ago Geoffroy Gournet shared with me that at the end of PR production a few B grade guns had not finished being engraved in Japan and when shipped to the USA he finished the necessary engraving. Some of these were the floor plates and that is why we occasionally see different engraving scenes in contrast to the standard Japanese B grade ones. He possibly may have done some top lever engraving, too. Like the Meriden Parkers never say never! 😊

What a great gun ! I love the contour bead on the breech and the extra profiling on the top lever beautiful wood too. I read this thread yesterday and before I had finished clicking on the GI link it had been marked sold ! I beat myself up today stacking firewood so as not to torment myself and kept the weeping & gnashing of teeth to a minimum. Thanks for all your input. I'm not sure of the sale price. If my memory hasn't failed, they were asking $25K for the gun.
