Default A Good Weekend

Spent Saturday afternoon at Brett Hoops beautiful farm, working his setter Buzz on pigeons, ogling nice Parkers, and checking out the barrels for a 34" 16 ga hammer Parker. Also met Max the Springer Spaniel, the terror of Pa. pheasants, and his lovely wife Karen.
Sunday, we shot 200 rounds at beautiful Hunting Hills, as nice a venue as you have ever shot. Shot my new to be PH 20 for the first time( I like it), and Brett his VH 20. The second round was shot with my Scottish round body 20 hammer gun with 30" cyl/F tubes. Beautiful crisp, but sunny and dry day.

How did Max the Springer Spaniel come to find a lovely wife for himself named Karen?

You'd think "Queenie" or "Trixie" or "Lady" or "Frisky" wold have been her name but I guess folks give their dogs people names sometimes.... Like "Gracie".

The Springer gave Doc Pickens an alias. He doesn’t like Doc’s as a rule because they tend to stick him with needles annually. That and Pheasants Forever could still have a paper out on him. His real name is Finn, and he’s about the best Emotional Support Spaniel anyone could imagine. He serves as such for both me and his younger brother Buzz. His likes include Opera with a preference for Italian tenors, and anyone who hunts pheasants with a .410.
