Default Hummason Lead Shot

Does anyone have any experience with Hummason shot. How does it compare to the Lawrence brand? Thanks

Over the last ten years I’ve loaded and shot a fair amount of home made shot . No I didn’t make it but I had a friend that used to make it one other friend that still does . The one friend that’s still alive and making it says he gets best results making approx 8 1/2’s . My friend that’s passed now made up to 7’s . I can’t comment on hardness I do however know both used to put Linotype in their alloy before they started dripping shot . Lawrence used to make three grades of shot Black was and still is magnum , Red was chilled and they made Blue that was the cheapest grade . Over time I got maybe forty bags of the soft blue bag stuff and it broke targets well enough on the skeet field as well as smoke dove , all the blue bag came from a nueclear power plant and they’d used it as a buffer around one of the reactors and was all 8’s .

So you were shooting high-tech depleted uranium shot. I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy….

I got some from my friend that drips the 8 1/2’s . They had Copper plated 7 1/2’s there not to long ago . I ran out of regular 7 1/2’s before your shoot . The pretty copper plated stuff in my 8 gauge loads had been in a nuclear facility a few years back .

Talk about a topic going sideways! All I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with a Canadian brand of shot named Hummason. Somehow we are talking about radioactive homemade shot.

All the shot that were in the power plant were factory made .

My two friends that make or made shot both worked at the nuclear facility .

And to answer your initial question no I've never heard of that brand but if it's relatively round and priced right i'd not worry about it as far as breaking targets or killing feathered birds .
