Default The 8 goes to war !

War that is against the deer on the damage control permits ! A 730 grain slug in the right barrel and sixteen 0 buck in the left . Also brought the little Mannlicher Schoenauer MC carbine in 7x57 along in case they’re much over thirty yards away ! That one has handloads with Nosler 140 BT’s and Hornady 139 SST’s in the magazine .

We only DC hunt on Tuesdays and fridays after 17:30 . Tuesday looks pretty good so I suppose the 8 will make the trip again . Might haul along my 700 5R 260 instead of the MS 7x57 . If it’s to wet to drive out where I setup for the 8 I’ll just stay back and use the 260 .

And the battle resumes ! I’m prepared to go on into the dark hours as I also have my friends AR-10 suppressed with thermal optics . I’d be quite satisfied just to plunk one with the 8 gauge . And possibly a second in daylight with the 7x57 .

I have a couple drilling’s that the rifle barrel is 7x57R . Sad to say I’ve never killed anything when carrying a drilling .

I really like drillings I always admired all the skilled work put into these guns...there built like a swiss watch.. ive always wanted one in the 9.3x 74r I had one in the combination gun it was the 9.3 x 72 r it seemed to be under powered for a deer ...charlie
