Default CASXS Monthly Shoot

For those in the West and especially California - this was just sent to me.

Greetings, Dean
RESULTS - February Fun Shoot at Moore N Moore

Message from Phil Fayne, VP CASXSS

We had one hell of a fun shoot. We had a good turnout of 39 shooters, 5 new members and many payed their dues. (If you haven't please do). This is the biggest shoot of the year so far (it's also the only one so far) and this was the 2nd biggest shoot of last year! We missed a lot of members who would have been there because I screwed up and didn't get the email out on time. That won't happen again.

We signed up at 8:30am, had a small meeting, and all started shooting at 9am with each squad at a different station. We were done shooting by 11:00am which led to a great lunch of pork loin and chicken.

We had a 20-target fun game which consisted of a report pair then a true pair. One target from the continental machine and one from the new duck tower. It was fast paced and great practice for the State Shoot!

We then had the awards presentation. The trophies were different and of outstanding quality. All fun shoot trophies will be different every month so you can look forward to that.

For the main event, Candice Fowler won HOA, followed by her husband John Fowler, New Member Robert Chavez and Patrick Bisby. The Fun Event was won by Ole Vandborg with an 18x20.

The entire event was over by 1pm (I got home by 5:30pm which is a new record).

Next month's shoot will be on Sunday March 8th at Oak Tree Gun Club. It will be three games totaling 100 targets. 50 skeet, 25 continental, 25 trap. This is a buckle shoot.

The program for the State Shoot, April 9,10,11th is on the website, along with the program for this year. Make your reservations early for the State Shoot. This will be the best one yet. Be sure to check the website all the time for news and announcements.

At future shoots, for members (veterans) who would rather shoot 50 targets instead of a hundred, we have a formula for that. We will double your score, and you'll still be in contention for the awards, Lewis Class. There will be a slight reduction in the cost. Email me your suggestions, cause this is your chapter.

NAME TAGS
If you're a new member or have requested a name tag, they will be available at the March 8th Oak Tree event.

Bye for now,
Phil
