Thanks for posting the question. The first I heard of this was on the radio this morning

This will be my first time - hoping I won't need the waders

Looks like it is supposed to clear up for the next few days. Let's hope we don't get rain like we had last year.

Look forward to seeing everyone there

Hoping the standing water runs off or evaporates soon enough.

Just checked the NWS website. Deep River (proper) will reach flood stage tonight, rain ending this PM with clear sailing(no pun intended) for the rest of the week---highs in the mid-80's all weekend. Roads not in the area not affected.

It rains every Friday afternoon at the Southern--at least it has the past three years

It sure does. Let's hope we break that tradition and have good weather this time.

Flooding at the Southern SXS

Postby tarheel » Tue Apr 25, 2017 5:16 pm
Saw a post a few min ago on the Parker website voicing concern about flooding at the Southern this weekend-

Raleigh NC did get about 7-8 inches of rain since yesterday, rain has stopped there this p.m. and pretty well stopped across the rest of Central NC. Forecast for remainder of today is widely scattered showers, no more heavy rain in forecast through this coming Sunday 30 April. With the forecast for clear and sunny through this coming weekend, weather should be ideal for all events.

I live about 40 miles SE of Deep River. Forecast for tomorrow's temp is 80 f, best bring your shorts and sun hat if you plan on staying for the weekend-forecast for Sunday 30 April is for 91f at Raleigh-Durham airport, temp at Deep River could run 2-3 deg. higher. With our NC humidity kicking in behind all this rain, guarantee you'll feel the difference if you're coming from Northern climes.

Please pass this on to your friends at the Parker website? I just lurk there for whatever I can learn, can't post there, etc.

A lot of the East Coast had been in near drought conditions so a few days with the near record heat the east is expecting should make things dry in a hurry.
