George, I had very mixed emotions and struggled through the narrative(s) in your post and the accompanying pictures. What would the PETA people who recently help close down the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey circus think about you and your cronies slaughtering those defenseless Eiders on the last day of the season, or your sending that cuddly 'Marley' dog out in the frigid surf without even a neoprene vest or a Filson retriever body stocking on?!!!

On the other hand, I and others of the frigid cloth of diehard waterfowl gunners must surely anoint you and your buddies as :"HardCore"! Like you, I mixed Kent TM and Black Cloud steel on my last duck hunt, and had no trouble at all figuring what to do with a SxS. So far as the cigar getting in the way, remind me to give you an Arturo Fuentes Sun Grown Double Chateau when you come to the MACA show at Timonium in March. And if you bring that great barrel-chested Yellow Dog, I'll go out to the truck to hug him as well. Well done!!

Kevin - You should see the video of "that cuddly 'Marley' dog" making the retrieve of champions through the churning surf, then proudly delivering a fat drake Eider, pure white breast speckled in crimson, to hand. What a Dog!!

I just received my new issue of Massachusetts Wildlife published by the MA Div. of Fish & Wildlife. In this issue is a lengthy article on the Eider Virus which is killing numbers of Eider in the North Cape area, specifically the Jeremy Point area of Wellfleet, MA. I haven't read the article yet but I will this morning then I'll mail it to Brother Purtill.
