I have just informed my Foxy friend that the season actually starts THIS Saturday and so I have saved his season opener.
Actually, I also had no idea that they changed the opening date until the DEP Fish tanker unloaded about a hundred trout into the nice pool behind my office last week.
So we can enjoy Tool Man's company without the fishy smell.

I'm still in shock!! Leave it to The Nutmeg State to alter a century old tradition with a flick of the pen. Some dates are sacred, sewn into the very fabric of our lives. The third Saturday in April, like The Glorious Twelfth, is a prime example. I wonder how many thousands of CT anglers will never catch this one???

PS---Thanks Charlie Purple, I would have missed my first Opening Day in 44 years!

Actually it WAS Charlie Purple who spotted the man with a net full of squirming brookies through my office window. He watches the brook like an Osprey.
