Default We finally drew feathers

Probably would've had a couple more if I was carrying a Parker...but unfortunately mine are all in various stages of restoration,we scratched down 5 but one of those lost in a tuckamore (very dense dwarf tundra spruce ) seen well over twenty in total but the birds were wild ,we walked our feet raw for 8 hours ...old Heiko ,although slowing up at 9 years old still saved the day with his non stop attitude .

I hope you guys enjoy the pics

Sorry guys ,I'm late to the show ...yes I got the Snipe ,and bagged another on Saturday ,but sorry no pics of either ...I went grouse hunting today ,and we had
some great work out of Heiko with several solid points ,but only bringing one to bag ,seems the pup has a fancy for hanging off the old dogs ear when he's on point ...frustrating as hell believe me ,but he is a pup after all...I didn't get a pic of today's bird either ,did get one of a nice point though and you'll notice Heiko's tail is down ...the pup ran his bird up

Chris ,Great Pictures ,looks as if your Buddies know it's lunch time ! When I was a Kid ,a Fire and on the opening day of Buck Season with Lunch cooking was a traditional thing here in Pa. also but some how that has gone by the way side ! I remember one year my Dad had a fire going and from where I was posted I could smell the chicken breasts cooking which were skewed on small Hickory sticks ,so I thought well I'll sneak down there and have some lunch with Dear Old Dad ,since he's cooking ! Shortly after I showed up ,he was down on His knees getting them off of the Hickory Sticks and I just happened to be holding his Rifle , about that time a Big Old 8 Point came sneaking in below us ,Dad said don't wait just take him ,I took Him through the front Shoulder nice and clean with my Dads Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 ,270 FW ,we then Had our Chicken ,Dressed my Buck and spent the rest of the day sitting by the fire hunting with my Dad ! I was about 14 ,Man those were the Days !
