Default 12g Upland Game Gun

I've been hunting with a Parker again this year. It's a nice little 12ga, GHE, with 26" open choked barrels. The gun weighs in at 6 lbs. 10 oz.
To me it seems like the the perfect grouse gun. I often wonder if it was ordered to be a grouse gun, it seems at home in the Pennsylvania woods. There is no information about it in the Parker records, so I guess I'll have to keep wondering.

Looks like a good upland gun to me. If the records show the location to which it was originally shipped, you can about guess what it was used for. I have a GH shipped to Virginia Beach that was most certainly used as waterfowl gun

Hmmm, a 6 lb 10 oz straight grip 12 gauge? What's not to like?

Those open chokes, if ordered that way from the factory, I would say were intended for two uses - depending on where the gun was shipped: grouse/woodcock if up north or quail if down south. Great looking little gun.

That's a late 1/2 frame gun isn't it Dave?

Default Parker

Thanks for the complements. It is a half frame gun made in 1940. The chokes are .005/.010. I checked out the Griffon & Howe serial # list last evening and found the gun listed. I'll be sending for a letter on Monday.

Sorry about the two edits, I can't seem to delete a post.
