I was in western Maine last week and had many grouse flushes, yet few woodcock the area covers were just a little too dry.

Louis we were hunting near Errol ,NH. Were you north of us .

We have had good numbers of grouse in Downeast so far, no woodcock flights yet, further inland I hear that have had a few.

Yes east and a little north of you. Put up grouse at every spot we tried
but there was some absolutely beautiful woodcock cover that was empty of birds. the ground was just too dry for them to get their beaks into. |
