Chris,
I have one gun that is light and kicks a bit too much for me with 7/8 oz loads. So, I've been loading the following. They are real pussycat loads. You might have to find a different wad for the 2.5 though. Rem STS or Gun Club 13.8 gr of Green Dot Claybuster 1075-20 Win 209 3/4 oz shot I believe the velocity is reported to be <1200 Cannot remember the pressure but you can look it up on the Alliant site I loaded this load down to 12 gr of Green Dot for kids just starting to shoot. I have no idea what the velocity might be but we broke targets quite well with them. Crimps were getting to be questionable in 2.75 in shells but you might try loading them down for the 2.5. |

I use the same Green Dot load(14 gr) as Gary with 3/4 oz loads and they are sweet shooters. Used them on grouse in the UP this year in my VHE 20. You can use that same load in a AA hull also.

Chris I use 20/28 powder and a 3/4oz load. I can look it up and give you specifics if you like. This is in a 2 1/2 inch RST hull.

Sure Rich ,that would be great ...how do you guys find the 3/4 ounce loads for grouse ? I've been thinking along the lines of 7/8 for ptarmigan as they're pretty wild up here and I need every bit of help I can get,but then again if I'm on I'm on, right
These loads will be used in a real tiny Lefever 20 I've been working on ,I think if I shot marshmallows from this little gun it would kick ! |

That is one beautiful stock Chris. I have been shooting 2 1/2" RST's for the past 3 years in my 12 , 16, 20, and 28. Not sure about the specs on these shells but I sure love the performance with the mild recoil.

Rich, what is your load using 20/28? I have been using Green Dot for 3/4 oz, but am down to my last pound. I do have close to 8 lbs of 20/28, so I will soon switch over to that.
