Default Is this a parker

I have this gun that I bought at an auction thirty years ago. I would like your help in authenticating it. I have attached few photos with the markings.

The name on says J. Parker and the serial number 3688. There are clear stamps on the barrel which I am guessing designate the metal work and faint letters on the outside of the barrel that could be a name but I cannot quiet make out.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

It's a "Parker" or some sort, but not a Parker Bro's made in the US.

Whatever it is, it's in pretty decent shape.

actually, yes it is a Parker

it is just not an American Parker Bros. gun, which I expect was the point of your question

looks like Birmingham proofs - Percussion? there were several gunmakers with the last name Parker in England - all the way back into the 1700's

may well be https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Joseph_Parker
