Default Syracuse D

I had a couple request to post a couple pics of some other doubles. Some of them have been posted before but not on this site.

Paul, you have identified it as a D grade. Do you know how they graded their guns ?
I have an A grade, but the engraving is much more simple, with plain wood.

According to http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Syracuse_Arms_Co_shotgun, Syracuse Arms Company guns were made in two series -- the stock guns, which had grades designated by numbers 00, 0, 1, 2, and 3; and the special order guns which had grades designated by letters, A, A-1, B, C, and D. List prices in the 1902 catalogue ranged from $30 for the 00-Grade with Triplet Steel barrels to $475 for the D-grade with either Whitworth Fluid or Damascus barrels.

So, in the reverse of what we Parker enthusiasts are accustomed to, the special order Syracuse guns went from the lower grade of "A" to the highest "D"?

Very nice Paul!.......Was this gun ever in the Double Gun Journal? Looks like one I saw a while back. Always thought it was one of the best looking doubles to ever grace there pages.
